“MAMA LATER PE SOUFER, NOU BIZIN NOURI SO LEVER”

is a joint sensitization project between Inner Wheel Club of Quatre-Bones and Inner Wheel Club of Curepipe and which is also our way in celebrating the centenary of International Inner Wheel.

We all are aware that our soil needs to be taken care of and it is time for us to stand up to show our commitment for the well-being of our soil which is our life.

"MAMA LATER PE SOUFER, nou bizin nouri so lever " is an opportunity for each one of us to show that we care about our country and we care about what we are going to leave as a legacy to future generations.

Our soil fertility has been significantly reduced over the past decades. All our self-sustaining lands have been destroyed through the wrong implementation of agriculture. The natural cycles from plants to soil and vice versa have been disrupted and chemical fertilisers are now being used to replace all organic contents. Research has shown that today yields are less than they used to be, food crops are less nutritious and there is a rise in cancer.

Chemical fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides are killing our soil and greatly affecting our health. We are absorbing toxic residues found in the food crop. Cancer in Mauritius has increased drastically from 2010 to 2020. Studies have found that there is a link between pesticides and cancer.

We all need to take action now and this is the main purpose of our campaign. Taking care of the soil, will mean taking of our health. Soil is also the solution to all our natural calamities.'
